Smallknot’s Greenville Cash Mob went deliciously well!

On Monday’s show, we interviewed Sydney Williams of Smallknot, a community funding platform. She told us about a great event that was held on Wednesday evening, a Cash Mob, a twist on a flash mob that helped a local business. The idea is to gather a group of people who all bring $10-15 and “mob” a designated locally owned business, thus encouraging local business and keeping money circulating within our community.

Wednesday’s Cash Mob targeted a wonderful new bakery on Main St, the Chocolate Moose.

We had approximately 45 people that met at Falls Park and then walked up to the Chocolate Moose. We had enough people to not only fill up the store, but we spilled out onto the sidewalk in front.

45 people spending an average of $10 per person makes for a great boost to this tasty new business and we all enjoyed wonderful cupcakes!

If you missed this Cash Mob, I hope you haven’t missed the message behind it: support local business or as one sign I saw today said, “Put your money where you Mom and Dad live.”
