Joyce Dickerson:
* Married with two adult children.
*Bachelor’s Degree from Benedict College
* Worked as a compliance auditor and as a cosmetologist
*Former chair of the National Foundation of Women Legislators

* Current Richland County Councilwomen, serving since 2004.
*Feels South Carolina needs a female voice in Washington

*Pro-2nd Amendment. Says we need to do a better job of taking care of our mentally ill.
*Supports comprehensive immigration reform, her emphasis is on addressing those already here.
*Wants to see real reform at the VA
*Supports continuing funding the MOX plant that converts nuclear waste to fuel, even though
the Obama Administration is considering stopping the project that is billions of dollars behind in
cost overruns, is 3 years behind schedule and there is concern about the market for the fuel.

 

Sidney Moore Jr.:
*Divorced, with two adult children
*Graduate of University of South Carolina: Economics
*Worked in telecommunications and as a newspaper reporter.
*Served 2 terms on York County Council in the 1970s

*There is almost no information on where Mr. Moore stands on the issues and he did not participate in
the ETV debate.
* He mentions wanting to focus on education and helping those underserved counties in SC.

 

Harry Pavilack:
* Married with two adult daughters
* Graduate of Clemson University with a dual degree in Economics and English and earn a J.D. at the
University of South Carolina School of Law>
* Works as a practicing attorney in the Grand Strand
*Also works in real estate (The recession hit his real estate business hard and he had to file bankruptcy
and owe between $50 million and $72 million.)

* Says he is challenging Sen. Scott because he says Sen. Scott has been a “follower” rather than a
“leader,” which is what South Carolina needs right now.

*Pro-gun control, esp in light of recent shootings across the country
*Wants to see real reform at the VA, even if that means borrowing more money in spite of our deficit
* Supports continuing funding the MOX plant that converts nuclear waste to fuel, even though
